Mori Ranmaru Fighting off an Attacker

Series; The New Biography of Toyotomi Hideyoshi

Mori Ranmaru Fighting off an Attacker - Fantastic depiction of Mori Ranmaru battling an attacker at the edge of a verandah. He plants one foot firmly on the railing for support as he thrusts his spear at the enemy, who instead grabs the weapon and holds on as he begins to tumble backwards, one foot finding a hold on the stone wall below. At right a women warrior sends an opponent sprawling with her naginata. A terrific action scene with a dramatic composition and excellent detail in the armor and faces.

Artist - Toyonobu (1859 - 1886)

Image Size - 14 1/8" x 18 3/34" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Two separate panels. Slight soiling, very slight rubbing at edges. Please see photos for details. Nice overall.
