Wife of Tokugawa Ieyasu, No. 2 - Lovely woodblock of the wife of Tokugawa Ieyasu, the first shogun and founder of the Tokugawa Shogunate. She sits near a lake bordered by snow-covered pine trees, the small girl next to her holding out a cup of tea. Her purple coat is trimmed with black fur and has a green lining patterned with delicate scrollwork. Beautiful soft shading in her lovely face, with fine detail in the hairstyles and embossing on the white kimono collar. A handsome design.
