Beauty Reading a Letter Kakemono

Comments - Charming kakemono or vertical diptych design of a beauty reading a letter, leaning back against a doorframe. Completely focused on the writing, she seems rather surprised at the contents, her mouth slightly agape as she looks down. She wears a beautiful rose checked kimono bordered with an orange and gray plaid featuring circular motifs of bats around a crescent moon. Her hair is piled high atop her head with many decorative maple leaf hairpins and a large comb. An attractive composition beautifully suited to the kakemono format, with beautiful color and pattern. A lovely subject.
