Beauty in Falling Snow Kakemono

Comments - Lovely woodblock kakemono or vertical diptych of a beauty walking through the falling snow under an umbrella. The woman lifts the hem of her robe as she walks, looking down with a rather distraught expression. Her kimono features a striped pattern of red alternating with green and white blocks, trimmed with a green print of flowers and leaves. She wears tall wooden geta sandals and her red floral under robe is visible above her feet. Her hair is pulled back into a sleek bun, adorned with a large comb and several decorative hairpins. A classic Eisen beauty design that would make a beautiful display.

Artist - Eisen (1790 - 1848)

Image Size - 29" x 9 3/4"

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Two panels, attached at the seam. A few small holes, repaired, blends well. Slight paper remnants along left and right edges. Faint toning, slight creasing and soiling. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
