Kabuki Lion Dance

Comments - Wonderful kabuki triptych of the actor Ichikawa Danjuro performing as a lion dancer, accompanied by his two young girls as butterflies. He wears a traditional white wig topped with a tiny red lion mask, the long hair flowing over his shoulders. He looks to the side with a pensive expression as he stretches out his kimono sleeves. The girls play hand drums strapped around their necks, their purple and red kimono sleeves emulating butterfly wings. Lovely detail attractive print, including extensive embossing in the white wig.
