Feat of Strength

Comments - Intriguing kabuki scene of a woman lifting a stone pillar above her head in an amazing feat of strength, threatening to throw it down on a samurai. Her intended victim has stumbled backwards, falling to the ground and flinging his hand out in a stopping gesture. The beauty stares at a princess at left, eying her with a rather sad expression. The princess returns her gaze with a faint smile, dressed in a bright pink kimono patterned with cherry blossoms. At right, another man scowls up at the beauty, gripping his sword. An interesting subject, nicely detailed with vibrant color and burnishing in the black obi.
