Woman with a Pine Branch, 1901

Kubota Beisen - A gifted and popular illustrator and painter, Beisen studied with artist Kono Bairei and later taught at the Kyoto Prefectural School of Painting. He was known for his lively and skillful designs featuring a range of subjects. These beautiful traditional nature scenes display Beisen's expressive line work and wonderful sense of asymmetrical balance and composition. Deftly rendered with calligraphic brushwork, these handsome designs are a great choice to collect or display.

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Small tear at top edge, repaired, blends well. Slight soiling, a few creases at edges. Please see photos for details. Nice overall.
