Here, loyal warriors are shown helping the exiled Emperor Go-Daigo escape from his captivity on Oki Island. In the center, a samurai holds a hat above the emperor's head to shelter him form the driving rain while lifting up his robe to keep it from getting wet. The emperor looks back at him solemnly as he another man leads him gently by the hand. Go-Daigo wears a white tunic with a beautiful embossed pattern over red pants, and a tall court cap. At left, two samurai in armor kneel respectfully as gusts of wind sweep the rain diagonally across the scene. A beautifully rendered historic design.
