Original Kunisada III (1848 - 1920) Japanese Woodblock Print
Ferryman and Beauty, 1903

Comments - Handsome kabuki scene of Ichikawa Yaozo VII as the ferryman Inaba Tasaku and Nakamura Shikan V as the beauty Okaji. He leans forward with interest, looking up with a slight frown, his hands in his lap. He wears a formal dotted gray kamishimo over a blue kimono with plaid insets. The beauty looks back over her shoulder with a faint smile, dressed in a purple floral outer robe over a bright pink kimono. Her hair is pulled back into a large look adorned with a simple hairpin. Nicely detailed with fine line work in the hair and soft pink shading around the eyes.

Artist - Kunisada III (1848 - 1920)

Image Size - 14 1/8" x 9 3/8" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Slight creasing, a few faint stains in top margin, very slight soiling. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
