Series; Famous Places of Edo Compared with One Hundred Beautiful Women
Dairoku Tenjin Shrine, 1858 - Interesting depiction of a seated beauty examining a band on her upper arm. She looks down with a pensive expression as she lifts the sleeve of her intricately patterned gray and white kimono. A small drawer at left holds what looks like coiled lengths of thread. The inset above shows the torii gate and rooftops of Dairoku Tenjin Shrine beneath a sunny yellow sky. Nicely detailed.
