Ashikaga Takauji and Nitta Yoshisada - Great portrait of the warrior Ashikaga Takauji looking down at the samurai Nitta Yoshisada. Takauji leans over the railing of a verandah, dressed in armor gripping a sword at his side, a quiver of arrows visible above his back. Yoshisada rides a white horse, gesturing with his tasseled red command baton, a white banner fluttering from a standard above his head. White clouds drift across the softly shaded sky which changes from blue to ocher. A handsome composition with attractive detail and color.
