Comments - Terrific shin hanga kabuki portrait of Ichikawa Danshiro as a sambaso dancer. He kneels with his arms folding behind his head, his vest patterned with feathers giving him the appearance of having wings. He wears a tall striped cap with a red sun on the side, and his pants features a pine tree motif. Pine branches are silhouetted behind the figure at left. A beautifully colored and detailed design by this shin hanga master.
