Child Peering through a Beauty's Kimono

Comments - Charming image of a young child peering through the sheet striped fabric of a beauty's kimono. The woman looks down with an amused smile as the baby at her feet looks up through the cloth. The beauty has a blue apron bordered with seashells wrapped around her waist, and her checked obi reverses to a gray striped fabric. A circular inset at upper right shows a koto with a few spools of thread next to it. A sweet design.

Artist - Toyokuni III/Kunisada (1786 - 1864)

Image Size - 14" x 9 3/8"

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Slight thinning at right edge, a few holes, repaired, blends well. Creasing, slight soiling, slight rubbing near edges. Please see photos for details.
