Distant View of Benkei Moat and Downtown Outer Sakurada from the Kojimachi Riverbank, 1854 - Terrific scene of a bustling Sanno Festival procession making its way along the water's edge at Sakurada along the Kojimachi riverbank. Dignitaries ride in a float at right under a roofed verandah, a sea of umbrellas and heads below them. Another float frames the view at right, draped in cloth banners featuring a dragon and splashing waves. The rooftops of the city spread out beyond the hills, the evening sky streaked with red clouds. A fascinating subject with lively color.
