He stands behind a screen at left, frowning angrily with his sword in hand. The young woman leans forward anxiously, clutching the collar of her red kimono patterned with blossoming irises. Her companion grimaces back at her, dressed in an elegant green print kamishimo over a purple robe. Shelves behind the beauty hold an assortment of boxes, while a scroll at right features a painting of bamboo. An intriguing image with lively color and a handsomely detailed setting.
