Couple at a Shrine

Comments - Handsome kabuki double portrait depicting a couple at a shrine. The man rests on one knee, scowling angrily up at his companion. The beauty smiles cheerfully back at him, seemingly unaware of his unhappiness. They wear matching blue kimono patterned with pink and yellow motifs, tied with geometric pattern obi. A stone torii gate can be seen behind the pair at left. Nice expressive figures, attractively colored.

Artist - Kuniyasu (1794 - 1832)

Image Size - 5 1/8" x 11 1/2" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail. A few small spots. A couple holes repaired. Please see photos for details. Nice overall.
