Comments - Fantastic five panel print set depicting the woodblock printing process for Hiroshi Yoshida's print titled "A Junk." Color samples in the left margin of each of the first four prints show the different inks as they are added successively. The fifth image shows a nighttime variation of the coloring. The last two woodblocks feature a stamped title and signature. A fascinating set showing the intricacies of the woodblock printing process and the number of colors used to create the subtle luminous effects that Hiroshi Yoshida was known for. Includes a title page describing the color blocks added to each plate. These printing process sets are quite rare and when they can be found, sell for up to $500. Would make a terrific addition to any shin hanga print collection.
