In the Chinchon Region, Five Military Engineers of Japan Rout Over One Hundred Chinese Soldiers, 1894

Comments - Terrific scene from the Sino-Japanese War illustrating a battle in which five Japanese soldiers won a fight against one hundred Chinese warriors. Here the victorious Japanese chase off the last of the Chinese troops, who flee before them as they attack waving their swords overhead. At right, two Chinese soldiers are piled in a heap, victims of the battle. Nice detail in the uniforms and weapons, and beautiful soft shading in the background. A nice choice for a collector interested in this historic war.

Artist - Toshikata (1866 - 1908)

Image Size - 13 3/4" x 28"

Condition - This triptych with excellent color and detail as shown. Three panels, not attached at the seams. Slight soiling, faint pink offsetting near edges. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
