Comments - Lively depiction of a battle during the Sino-Japanese War, with Japanese troops at left firing on a group of Chinese at right. At bottom center, a Japanese soldier points a short sword at an enemy he has forced to the ground, gripping him by the throat. At left, a Chinese rider tumbles backwards from his rearing horse as a Japanese soldier lunges at him. Clouds of smoke drift across the battlefield, and a fortress can be seen in silhouette against the dark night sky in the distance, the glowing with orange light. Nicely colored and detailed, with text running across the top of each panel.
