Oda Nobunaga's Forces Attacking a Castle

Comments - Incredible triptych depicting Oda Nobunaga's troops attacking a castle. The great general sits astride a dappled horse at right, watching as a row of samurai fire guns at the fortress, the red shots streaking across the sky. At right, an enormous cannon belches smoke as it sends a flaming shot high over the walls of the fortress, flames already shooting from the tower at upper left. Just below the tower, warriors clamber up the steep stone walls, while in the center, samurai on horseback gallop cross the moat's bridge to reach the entrance gate. A fantastic depiction of samurai warfare and a cannon in action. Wonderfully detailed and atmospheric, with vibrant color and wonderful detail. A great choice for a collector interested in the samurai tradition.
