Adachi was one of the most respected publishers of the 20th century. Their woodblocks were printed to the highest standards with excellent color and fine detail. Founded in 1925, Adachi also chose interesting and varied subjects for their prints and was the only publisher of many famous old ukiyo-e images.

Sumida River in Edo - Lovely view of a ferry crossing the Sumida River on a winter day. Passengers are huddled against the cold, some wearing straw coats and hats covered with snow. A snow-covered pine trees frames the scene at left, with a beautiful winter landscape along the opposite shore. Nicely detailed with soft bokashi shading. Not often seen in reprint.
