Original Kunisada II (1823 - 1880) Japanese Woodblock Print
Beauty and Girl

Comments - Attractive print of a young girl waving to a beauty as she walks past, carrying a small wooden tub with a fish in it. The woman smiles back at her as she adjusts one of her hairpins. Her kimono is shaded from purple to soft pink, bordered with green ferns and tied with a green brocade obi. A fan shaped inset above shows a cuckoo flying past a full moon with misty clouds drifting by. An interesting design with fine bokashi shading in the background.

Artist - Kunisada II (1823 - 1880)

Image Size - 14" x 9 1/8" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Thinning and small losses at right edge, a few small holes, repaired, blends well. Slight soiling. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
