Series; Ukiyo-e Comparisons of the Cloudy Chapters of Genji, 1845 - 1846

Umegae (Plum Branch), Chapter 32 - Interesting scene of the samurai Hayakawa Takakage gripping a flowering plum branch as his brother, Yadahei, kneels before him. Takakage scowls angrily, wearing a brown kamishimo with a striking dragon and cloud design over a black kimono with striped sleeves. His curly hair has been pulled back into a thick topknot. Yadahei frowns back at the warrior, his blue robe edges with a floral design. A handsome design, nicely detailed.
