Original Toyokuni III/Kunisada (1786 - 1864) Japanese Woodblock Print
Traveling Beauty, 1847 - 1852

Comments - Charming kabuki portrait of a beauty pausing for a rest while traveling. She grins happily as she looks over her shoulder, lifting a hat with her hand. She has a cloth bundle tied around the shoulders of her black kimono, which appears quite tattered at the edges. Her short hair is tied back in a tiny ponytail, with loose wisps framing her face. An inset above in the form of a scroll unrolling shows a man poling a boat across the water, geese overhead descending for the night. Attractively colored and nicely detailed, with a faint embossed texture in the gray under robe.

Artist - Toyokuni III/Kunisada (1786 - 1864)

Image Size - 10 1/8" x 7 1/8" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Please see photos for details. Nice overall.
