Visit to a Temple, 1880

Comments - Handsome view of a mother and her son paying a visit to a temple. The beauty wears a blue kimono and wooden geta sandals, and carries a black umbrella as the pair passes beneath a tall gate with a row of colorful red paper lanterns overhead. Other men and women stroll about the grounds, some dressed in traditional clothing and others in Western dress, and cherry trees are covered with blossoms. Nicely composed.

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail. Toned as shown. Backed with old paper. A few light spots near top edge. A few small holes and losses repaired when backed. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
