Comments - Attractive scene of the Prince Genji enjoying some entertainment on the verandah of a palace overlooking Kiyomizu Temple. He sits on a cushion at left as an attendant pours him a cup of sake. A shirabyoshi dancer performs in the center, gracefully pointing her folded fan as she stretches out her kimono sleeve. A smiling beauty accompanies her on a hand drum, as a few other women and a young girl approach at right. The room offers a lovely view of Kiyomizu, the structure built onto the side of a steep hill covered with blossoming cherry trees. A charming design, nicely detailed.
