Original Toyokuni III/Kunisada (1786 - 1864) Japanese Woodblock Print
Young Nobleman, 1847 - 1852

Comments - Attractive kabuki portrait of a young nobleman, looking over his shoulder with a sad expression. He wears an elegant purple kimono patterned with blossoms and tiny gourds, the white areas delicate embossed. His hair is neatly pulled back into a topknot tied with purple cord. An inset above in the form of a scroll unrolling shows a fisherman at night, with a bright fire burning in a wire basket hanging over the water. Nicely colored and detailed, with additional embossing in the blue collar of the red under robe.

Artist - Toyokuni III/Kunisada (1786 - 1864)

Image Size - 10 1/8" x 7 1/8" + margins as shown

Condition - This print with excellent color and detail as shown. Please see photos for details. Nice overall.
