Blind Man With Ghost Appearing on His Knee, 1855

Comments - Fantastic kabuki scene of a blind man sitting at the top of a stairway, gripping a wooden staff as a ghostly face appears in three dimensions on his knee. The beauty at right leans forward with an eager smile as she watches the tortured face staring ahead, the eyes shaded with blue and a white circle around the mouth. An orange and blue flame flickers just above the leg, a sign of a supernatural occurrence taking place. The blind man seems to be in pain, frowning as he leans against the pole. A fascinating and intriguing subject, wonderfully detailed with a handsome interior setting.
