Miyanokoshi, Myojo Cliff on the Kiso River: Ichikawa Danjuro VIII as Akatsuki Hoshi Goro - Great kabuki portrait of Ichikawa Danjuro VIII as the rogue Akatsuki Hoshigoro. He stares up with a stunned expression, his eyes wide as he grimaces, his fist held to his chest. He wears a boldly patterned black and yellow robe over a suit of armor, a heavy gray robe with a cloud design and a red brocade collar draped over his shoulder. His long hair is pulled into a low ponytail over his back, with shorter hair forming a bushy halo atop his head. A view of Miyanokoshi at night fills the background, with steep grassy hills lining the road and rooftops in the distance. A handsome, expressive figure.
