Magome: Bando Shuka I as Kishin Omatsu - Terrific kabuki portrait of Bando Shuka I as the female bandit Kishin Omatsu, testing the sharpness of her sword. She holds the weapon upright, examining the edge of the blade, smiling slightly as she does so. She wears a beautiful kimono combining a geometric design with delicate floral and leaf patterns. Her hair is rather disheveled, pulled back into a low knot over her shoulders. The landscape above shows a view of mountains in shadow as night falls. A great image with wonderful fine line work in the hair. A very handsome composition.

Condition - With excellent color and detail as shown. Faint vertical center fold. Minor separation at ends of fold, repaired from reverse. Minor thinning along center fold and at edges in some prints. Remnants from previous backing on some prints. Please see photos for a sense of individual condition. Generally in nice condition overall.
