Otsuma and Hachirobei in the Unagidani Scene of Urami no Samezaya, New Edition, Part 1

From an untitled series of joruri libretti

Otsuma and Hachirobei in the Unagidani Scene of Urami no Samezaya, New Edition, Part 1 - Intriguing image of a mother dressing her young child, looking over her shoulder with a rather worried expression. She grasps the baby's wrist as she slips the arm into a kimono sleeve, the child kicking and waving his legs. The background features a variety of open books, texts for ballad dramas known as "joruri." An unusual design, rarely seen in reprint.

Image Size - 15 1/8" x 10" + margins as shown
