Comments - Attractive kabuki portrait of a beauty at New Year's looking over her shoulder with a slight frown as she delicately adjusts one of her many hairpins. She wears a blue kimono bordered with cherry blossoms and ginkgo leaves, tied with a red brocade obi. A sacred shimenawa rope stretches across the top of the scene, and a cloud-like border separates the figure from blossoming plum trees and a fan-shaped kit flying in the sky. A handsome Osaka design, nicely colored and shaded.
