Original Yoshimori (1830 - 1884) Japanese Woodblock Print
View of a Shrine

Comments - Terrific panoramic view of a shrine nestled among a forest. A series of wood and stone torii gates at right leads to the shrine entrance at left, which is ornately decorated and colored in red and yellow. Visitors stroll about the extensive complex, which includes many stone lanterns and paper lanterns on poles. The red spire of a pagoda rises above the pines trees at center. A wonderful design, attractively colored and detailed, with fine bokashi shading in the clouds and sky.

Artist - Yoshimori (1830 - 1884)

Image Size - 13 5/8" x 28 1/4" + margins

Condition - With excellent color and detail. Three panels, attached at the seams and backed with thin paper. Faint rubbing and soiling along edges with one small stain in upper half of right-hand panel. Faint spotting and a few vertical creases running through subject. Please see photos for details. Nice overall.
