Returning from a Bath, 1861

Comments - Attractive kabuki portrait of a beauty returning from a bath with a tie-dyed cotton robe tucked under her arm and a towel draped over her shoulder. She carries an umbrella, smiling as she looks back. She wears a striped kimono over a red under robe, tied with a gray-violet obi that reverses to black, and tall wooden geta sandals. A handsome design, nicely composed and colored.

Artist - Toyokuni III/Kunisada (1786 - 1864)

Image Size - 14 1/2" x 10 1/8" + top margin as shown

Condition - With excellent color and detail as shown. Horizontal center fold. Slight thinning at bottom corners, repaired, blends well. Slight soiling and creasing. Please see photos for details. Good overall.
