These attractive designs are beautifully detailed with colorful costumes, delicate line work, and expressive faces. The figures are wonderfully suited to the narrow tanzaku or "poem slip" format, a traditional Japanese from dating back hundreds of years. Some include deluxe techniques such as embossing, burnishing, or soft bokashi shading. A great series capturing the drama and elegance of these classic performances.
