Comments - Wonderful reprint of this Sharaku masterwork. A fantastic design of Matsumoto Yonesaburo as the beauty Shinobu in the drama "Katakiuchi Noriai Banashi." She and her sister have sworn to avenge the murder of their father. She looks over her shoulder with a slight smile, a slender pipe in her hand. The black obi is beautifully detailed with a delicate burnished pattern of cranes with outstretched wings and clouds against a geometric design, forming a striking contrast with the softly colored tie-dyed kimono. A lovely subject with a distressed gray mica background.
