Hiroshige III's Famous Places in
Asukayama, 1875 - Handsome portrait of a sumo wrestler outside the ring. He wears a black coat over a black kimono edged in purple and lined with a yellow and olive green striped fabric and zori sandals. A purse can be seen tucked into the front of his robe, and he holds a folding fan. The inset behind him depicts Asukayama in spring, with blossoming cherry trees and the peak of Mt. Fuji just visible at far left. An attractive design with soft bokashi shading in the background.
