Otani Tomoemon as Tsuge Busuke, 1866 - Handsome kabuki portrait of Otani Tomoemon as the commoner Tsuge Busuke. He tilts his head down with an unhappy sneer, his arms spread wide beside him. He wears a black and gray checked kimono over a blue striped under robe with a black collar. His hair is pulled into a knot at the back of his head, a few loose wisps framing his face. The figure is set in a rectangular inset with a text inset above, against a red orange background. Nicely detailed with very fine line work in the hair.

Artist - Kunichika (1835 - 1900)

Image Size - 8 3/4" x 12 7/8" + margins as shown

Condition - With excellent color and detail. Stitching holes along left edge from previous folio mounting, repaired, blends well. Slight soiling. Please see photos for details. Nice overall.
