Series; One Hundred Famous Views of Edo
Beautiful Meiji Era printing

100 Famous Views of Edo - In 1856, Hiroshige began designing what was to be his last great series and a masterpiece - 100 Famous Views of Edo. Each print from this series was a classic Hiroshige landscape work, taking advantage of the vertical format to capture a slice of life from Edo in dramatic and interesting ways. The series was very popular with the public and new releases were eagerly anticipated over the time that Hiroshige released the designs. Beautifully colored and finely printed, our prints from this series are a nice opportunity to collect these 19th century landscape images.

This lovely print is from a beautiful Meiji era printing produced in the early 20th century. Reprints of this quality and age are very rare and hard to come across. Bid or buy now before these exquisite prints are sold out!

Mitsumata Wakarenofuchi - Here we look southwest over the widest stretch of the Sumida River, set against a striking view of Mt. Fuji in the distance. The vantage point is from the east bank of the river, a bit above Mannen Bridge. To the left in the distance is a man-made island largely given over to daimyo mansions -- the perfect location for the security needed among the daimyo.
