Discussing Strategy during a Battle

Comments - Interesting scene from the Sino-Japanese War of Japanese officers discussing strategy at left as troops are fighting the battlefield below. Officers are gathered around a map spread out on a cloth-covered table, next to a cannon perched atop a hill overlooking the battle. In the center, a soldier hangs onto a tree branch, holding his cap with his other hand as he leans forward for a better view. Troops fight hand-to-hand with swords and guns with bayonets fixed, while behind a row of smoke, an officer on horseback thrusts his sword forward to lead a charge. An intriguing illustration with wonderful detail.
