Heian Shrine, Kyoto, 1936 - Handsome view of Heian Shrine in Kyoto, the elegant red building nestled among the trees. A couple strolls about the grounds, the man wearing a traditional kimono and a Western-style hat. One of twelve woodblock designs Hasui created to illustrate the book "Shinto and its Architecture," first published in 1936. A beautiful Hasui design with attractive color and detail.
