47 Ronin, Act 1

Miniature 47 Ronin Triptychs - Handsome design from a series of miniature triptychs illustrating scenes from the popular kabuki play "Kanadehon Chushingura," the drama based on the true story of the 47 ronin. Each triptych depicts three expressive half-length characters set against a solid color or a detailed setting. These small kabuki designs feature the same attention to detail as full-size prints, with fine line work in the faces and hair, and lively color. Some include deluxe printing techniques such as embossing or fine bokashi shading. An unusual and fun choice for a collector interested in this classic tale of honor and revenge.

Artist - Kunichika (1835 - 1900)

Image Size - 6 7/8" x 13 5/8"
