Moon at a Vacation House, 1891

Series; Snow, Moon, and Flowers

Moon at a Vacation House, 1891 - Beautiful triptych depicting a garden under a full moon, with a beauty playing the koto in the room at right. In the center, a woman waves goodbye to the young girl leaning over the railing. Grasses and colorful flowers line the walkway at left, with a willow tree above framing a pond with a small boat on it. At upper right, a fence surrounds another house with softly glowing shoji windows. An attractive design, richly colored with fine bokashi shading in the night sky.

Artist - Chikanobu (1838 - 1912)

Image Size - 14" x 27 1/2 + margins

Condition - With excellent color and detail. Three panels, not attached at the seams and backed with thin paper. Lightly toned along edges with some minor spotting and ink offsetting in subject. One small loss in center panel with a couple areas of thinning along edges, all repaired from reverse with backing. Please see photos for details. Nice overall.
