Seated General, 1877

Comments - Handsome portrait of a general seated in a plush chair trimmed with yellow fringe. The bearded officer grimaces unhappily, holding his sword at his side. He wears a black jacket trimmed with yellow braid and epaulets, with a red floral sash across his chest and a star-shaped medal. His purple pants are trimmed with yellow stripes, and he wears a plumed hat. The portrait is surrounded by text, set against a red border with ornate floral motifs in the corners. A memorable image with vivid color.

Condition - With excellent color and detail. Minor spotting and soiling in subject with thin paper backing. Slight wrinkling along edges. Please see photos for details. Nice overall.
