Archery Practice - Fantastic Chikanobu triptych depicting a young boy practicing archery indoors, shooting arrows at a target affixed to a kimono draped over a stand. Three upper-class women smile indulgently as they enjoy watching him play. He has just released an arrow, and the woman kneeling next to him prepares to hand him another. A standing woman pulls the kimono taught to ensure a good view of the target. A fantastic design with beautiful color and intricate detail in the sumptuous kimono fabrics and a subtle pattern across the background. Includes embossing in the white kimono trim. A wonderful image from this great series.
