Yamauba and Kintaro

Comments - A famous Utamaro portrait of Kintaro with his mother Yamauba. A wonderful expression of maternal love as Yamauba grooms the young boy, tying his hair into the traditional samurai topknot. Kintaro amuses himself by making faces in a hand mirror while his mother works at her task. Fine choice for a collector looking for an Utamaro reprint or a lovely piece for display.
