Heron Maiden

Series; An Array of Dancing Girls of the Present Day

Heron Maiden - Lovely Utamaro portrait of a young beauty elaborately dressed in a festival costume, representing the Heron Maiden. She wears a sheer silk hat adorned with pale pink blossoms and topped with a peony, and gracefully dances waving two matching fans. The delicately colored large figure is beautifully set off by a shimmering mica background. A charming design, rarely seen in reprint.

Image Size - 14 1/4" x 9 1/2" + margins as shown

Condition - With excellent color and detail as shown. Losses to mica, especially along upper left edge, faint toning, a few small spots, pencil notations in left margin. Slight adhesive residue at two points on reverse from previous folio mounting. Please see photos for details.
