Worried Street Knight

Comments - Handsome kabuki portrait of an otokodate or street knight looking over his shoulder with a worried expression as he pushes up his sleeve. He wears a striking black kimono with a green dragon breathing fire on the sleeve and a battle helmet on a stand near the hem. A sword is tucked at his side, and a shakuhachi flute can be seen at his back. A great design with beautiful color and detail, including burnishing in the black robe and fine bokashi shading in the night sky.

Artist - Toyokuni III/Kunisada (1786 - 1864)

Image Size - 14 1/8" x 9 5/8"

Condition - With excellent color and detail. Very faint spotting in subject with minor remnants from previous backing on reverse. Please see photos for details. Nice overall.
