Series; Kyosai Rakuga (Kyosai's Drawings for Pleasure)

Kyosai Rakuga - Attractive image from the series "Kyosai Rakuga" (Kyosai's Drawings for Pleasure). These charming designs feature a wide range of subjects from nature, including flowers, insects, fish, and animals. From mischievous monkeys and a fox playing with a turtle to still-lifes of fish and flowers, these handsome illustrations are drawn with lively, calligraphic brushwork enhanced with soft color. Kyosai depicted what appealed to him as an artist, capturing the beauty and humor of the world around.

Condition - With excellent color and detail as shown. Slight thinning or paper remnants on reverse at sides from previous folio mounting. Faint toning or slight creasing. A few prints have a small hole or two, repaired, blends well. Please see photos for a sense of individual condition. Generally in good condition overall.
