Russian, 1861 - Terrific Yokohama-e portrait of a Russian military officer riding a lively, galloping horse. He wears a long black coat trimmed with fringed blue epaulets over white pants, and a tall black hat with decorative designs in blue. His curly gray hair is combed neatly back over his ears. A great image of a foreigner in Japan.
